the team
Real humans who've walked the same path you're about to, and are committed to guiding you all the way.
I’ve been a coach in the fitness industry for over 8 years. My background is strength and conditioning training using different modalities including classic weights, barbells, bodyweight flows, and unconventional tools like kettlebells, heavy bags and steel mace.
I love helping people get off couches and feel comfortable in the gym environment. I want to move the needle for everyday humans who want to better their lives. I understand that it can be quite challenging to incorporate structured fitness into your existing life and family commitments. Therefore I always wanted to create a community that helped people find their wellness with some beginner, intermediate and even advanced offerings for those who really wanted to sink their teeth into a challenge.
I’ve travelled the world in search of new and exciting training modalities and spent time in Los Angeles, Austin Texas, Indonesia and Thailand for months at a time to immerse myself under various coaches. I believe the learning never stops as a coach and I am honoured to surround myself with this team of highly talented coaches to collectively bring the best in fitness to the Tweed Coast.
The Jungle “Fight Lift Move” philosophy speaks to me as it promotes strength in all spheres of life; physical, mental and social. Imagine a space where you can get stronger, learn new skills and be supported along the way.
We are here for it.
It all started walking down to the local squash courts, dressed up in a kimono to learn Karate like every other kid in the 80s.
From Karate it led into Muay Thai at the infamous McKinnon brothers’ Bulldog Gym where striking eventually turned into grappling.
Finding BJJ in my late 20s was an eye-opening addiction like no other and led me to seek out training all over the globe from Hawaii to North and South America and Asia.
Over time I delved into CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, kettlebell training and yoga. A little bit of ageing in recent years means that I now have a huge appreciation for recovery and repairing the body. I am constantly experimenting with different recovery modalities and really enjoy hot and cold contrast therapy.
When we met the Jungle Brothers community, I found that their “Fight Lift Move” philosophy aligned heavily with my own interests and beliefs and we wanted to share that with the Northern Rivers community. Now my wife and I are opening our very own facility here in Cabarita Beach and look forward to sharing it with you.
